Asfandarmad Ameshāspand Parabh
Asfandarmad is the twelfth and last month of the Zoroastrian calendar, dedicated to Spenta Armaity – the Divinity that presides over Mother Earth. Zoroastrians, for centuries, have celebrated Asfandarmad Roj of Asfandarmad Mah as ‘Earth Day’. It’s the original and perhaps the world’s first ‘Earth Day’! Every year, on the Asfandarmad Parabh, Zoroastrian priests write the Nirang of Asfandarmad.
Asfandarmad Amesha Spenta is in charge of the creation earth of Dadar Hormazd, and looks after our earth, making sure all lives on mother earth is secured by keeping the undercurrents in check. Hence, by performing a Jashan dedicated to Asfandarmad Amesha Spenta enhances and strengthens the quality of love, holy piety and protection from earthquakes and similar calamities.
